Houston historic preservation efforts celebrated in River Oaks: Who got the gold bricks?
What:Preservation Houston's 35th anniversary Cornerstone Dinner.

The 411: More than 300 preservation-minded men and women gathered to celebrate presentation of the Gold Brick Awards for excellence in historic preservation. Awards went to both projects and individuals. Bethel Park received the Stewart Title Award, top honors, while Discovery Green was honored with the first Future Landmark Award. Hermann Park Conservancy received the Community Pillar Award. Nine other juried awards were acknowledged. Nancy and Walt Bratic chaired the dinner for which David Adickes contributed two of his original artworks for auction, purchased by Susan and Chris Dray. Giving official toasts for the evening were the Bratics, preservationist Phoebe Tudor and Bart Truxillo, one of Preservation Houston's founders.
Who: The impressive turnout included Preservation Houston president Jane-Page Crump, Anne Duncan, Barry Mandel, Dorothy and Mickey Ables, Anna Mod, Nancy Ames and Danny Ward, Romona Davis, Cindy and Larry Burns, Jerry Jeanmard, Lynda and Dick Sylvan, Claire Cormier-Thielke and Kristen and Neal Carlson.
