Love 'em or hate 'em, no one can deny former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's influence in modern American politics.
The powerhouse couple are known to many simply as The Clintons — either as an icon of a high-riding economy and a simpler, pre-9/11 America, or as the symbol of perceived modern sleazy politics, backroom dealing, and a particularly scandalous affair. They have been whittled down to boom economy or Benghazi, to With Her or Lock Her Up.
Local fans (and even naysayers) will have their chance to get up close and personal with the Clintons when they arrive in Houston on Tuesday, December 4 for a conversation at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land. The event is part of a national tour that kicks of November 18 in Las Vegas and extends into 2019.
The event, appropriately titled “An Evening with President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton,” will feature joint, onstage conversations with the two leaders as they share stories and anecdotes that shaped their historic careers. No doubt the November elections, the current political climate, and the current president will be hot topics.
The evening promises tidbits from Bill Clinton’s presidency to Hillary Clinton’s time in the Senate and State Department, plus one of America’s most unpredictable presidential elections, according to a release.
For Democrats, will it be an evening of laughter or tears, given the upcoming, hotly contested local elections? Will there be protesters from the other side, offering up familiar chants?
It wouldn’t be a Clinton event without the juicy speculation.
Tickets for “An Evening with President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton,” go on sale at 10 am Friday, October 12 at LiveNation.com.
