Gallant Knight (Closed)

Update: The Gallant Knight will close Dec. 31. The location will reopen after the first of the year under the same owners as Vintage Lounge. (Dec. 14, 2010).
The new Gallant Knight is a bold rebirth of a nearby spot that closed in 2006 after decades as Houston's in-the-know place for great rhythm & blues.
The new location is almost three times the size of the original and has a respectable stage to offer musicians, something that was lacking at the previous locale.
The owners imported the house party vibe of the old place, along with one of the bartenders and the old front door. The crowd has gotten a bit more youthful, but it's got the same live jazz and is walking distance from other popular Bissonnet bars like Under the Volcano and Kay's.
