This sophisticated downtown gastropub is a good standard for cocktails, beer and upscale dining. It's spot for the suit-and-tie-clad after-work crowd, when they're too overdressed for nearby Warrens and Char Bar.
One of the slicker places in newly-revamped Market Square Park, the menu features classic drinks like the New Old-Fashioned and the Twelve Spot, a strong but palatable ode to whiskey with Wild Turkey 101 and a touch of fresh-squeezed OJ. The bar food eclipses the typical chicken-finger-and-hot-wings fare. Appetizers include roasted poblano chicken soup and rare, sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna, while entrées like mahi-mahi fish tacos or a kobe burger with parmesan rosemary fries are solid winners. And the side of macaroni and cheese is just right for a little munch between cocktails.
