Cooking Up Style brings the haute for Houston's Homemade Hope
The vibes were haute, haute, haute as Homemade Hope’s inaugural Cooking Up Style soirée took over Tootsies on a rescheduled (but oh-so-worth-it) Monday evening, Jan. 27. Despite a wintry shuffle to the date, the glamorous gathering delivered plenty of sparkle.
With more than 160 fashionable friends in attendance, the evening began with mingling, shopping, and swooning over raffle prizes like Luke Bryan rodeo tickets and Diamond Club seats for the Astros. Guests got Rodeo-ready while the beats of Johnny Bravo brought energy. Bravo did double duty as the evening’s emcee for the main event: A chic runway show featuring community leaders, style mavens, and philanthropists modeling looks from Tootsies and Festari for Men.
Homemade Hope’s Blair Bentley Ozenbaugh, founder and executive director, spoke about the organization’s impact — empowering at-risk children with after-school culinary classes, mentoring, and life-skills programming.
Strutting their stuff with panache were Alex Heins, Adam Greer, Dr. Brittany Owen, Lisa Woods, Margot Delaronde, Josh Marcell, Scarlett Hankey, Ellecia Knolle, Janessa Young, Beverly Bentley, Trent Kelley, Mary Lou Pringle, Oliver Stevenson, Haniyeh Mirdamadi, Young Son, Dr. Monica Patel, Michele Leal, and Brooke Bentley Gunst. Each brought their own swagger, earning cheers from the crowd.
More than $75,000 was raised for Homemade Hope.
Spotted were Jeff Gunst, Brent Ozenbaugh, Debbie and Rudy Festari, Cam Canion, Barton Bentley, Peter Doyle, Katie Tsuru, Cyndy Garza Roberts, Lila Sharifian, George Farah, Melissa McWilliams, Julie Thomas, Cindi Rose, Amal andDr. Khaled Khalaf, Danielle and Jason Johnston, Louise Jamail, and Kristen Berger.
