Juicy news: West Ave restaurant debuts a new weekend juice bar
Your Friday nights may be juicy, but your Saturday mornings are about to get juicier.
West Ave's Pondicheri is launching a fresh juice bar on Saturday, which will operate in the restaurant's bar area on weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and eventually every day.
"Juices are nature's elixirs for health and healing," the announcement reads. "They are known to reduce the risk of cancer, boost the immune system, help remove toxins from the body, aid in digestion, help with weight loss and numerous other health benefits."
The Pondicheri juice bar is the second recent juice bar concept inside the Loop.
Pondicheri general manager Sophia Malik says the first offerings available this week are the Laal, a bright red blend of orange, carrot, ginger, turmeric and a hint of beet; and the green Naka with pear, apple, kale, celery and lemon.
The juice bar debut this Saturday also coincides with Pondicheri's monthly community breakfast, in which 50 percent of proceeds on Saturday morning are donated to a worthy cause. This week it's Pratham, an organization that provides preschool education to children in Mumbai's slums and the largest educational organization in India.
The Pondicheri juice bar is the second recent juice bar concept inside the Loop, following semi-stand-alone shop Roots Juice next to Roots Bistro.
