She's 9 & more talented than you
Is Willow Smith already ready to usurp Rihanna or Lil' Bow Wow?
She's got a style so fierce it would make Tyra Banks weep, a head-banging viral single and a spankin' new record deal.
Oh yeah, and she's 9-years old.
The hottest shorty in the music biz is Willow Smith, daughter of rapper-turned-action-star Will Smith and actress/rocker Jada Pinkett Smith.
Willow's first single, "Whip My Hair," has already become a viral sensation, with a sound that's a cross between Lil' Mama and Rihanna. Smith just signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label, so expect to hear more of the edgy Rihanna sound with the assistance of the man who turned that Barbadian teen into a superstar.
While she's definitely a youthful, pop sound, Jay-Z says he didn't know who Willow was or her age when he first heard it — and he knew it would be a hit. It's believable — Willow seems to have the innate swagger and the voice to pull off a recording career, and her sound leaves the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato in the dust.
The closest comparison could be to rapper Bow Wow, who came on the scene at 13 as Lil' Bow Wow and has transitioned into an adult artist and actor with eight albums under his belt.
Check out out, CultureMappers. Does it make you want to whip your hair?
