When Joyce Echols received the invitation for the Omega boutique launch in the Galleria and dinner that followed at the home of John and Becca Cason Thrash, this high-style lady shopped her closet for an appropriate cocktail ensemble.
She came up with a 10-year-old black lace dress that typically has a purple slip underneath. For this evening, she toned it down and made it all the more alluring by changing out the purple for a nude slip. Louboutin evening shoes and a Chanel handbag completed the look — "oldies but goodies," as she described them.
The eye-popping accessories were her earrings — tennis-ball sized poufs of rabbit fur. She found them at A Bientot. "Nothing special," she said. "But I love them."

Houston fashion week brought out the fashion faithful. Among the front row spectators, Joyce Echols looked fashion forward in a Haute Hippie lingerie dress from Katia, Michael Kors Mongolian fur vest from the Michael Kors Galleria store and a pair of above-the-knee Massimo Dogana python boots from Gregory's — "for the witching hour," she said. She accessorized her look with a pair of Mikimoto pearls, which she received as a wedding present.
