After 20 years in business, the Landry's Seafood on Westheimer near Fondren will close for good this Sunday. As one of the chain's oldest outposts, it's become a go-to in the area for gumbo, fried catfish and other Cajun-inspired seafood classics.
The restaurant's landlord revoked its lease after he sold the property to an apartment developer. All of the buildings on the 4.5 acre tract will be demolished to make way for a new development.
A Landry's representative tells CultureMap that the company is currently negotiating for a new location "in the area," but couldn't offer any more specifics. In the meantime, the restaurant's workers are being transferred to some of the group's other concepts.
