It was quite a surprise for shoppers in Guitar Center on Yale last week when rocker Steven Tyler strolled in to look around. The Aerosmith frontman, now dipping his toes into country (say it isn't so!), was in town for his one-night stand in the Brown Theater at Wortham Center.
The congenial Tyler visited with shoppers and sent one young lady over the moon with his attention. Tyler joined 9-year-old Easton Peters in a drum session in the store.
"He was so gracious. It was perfect timing," said the young drummer's mother, Bridget Sybil Holmes. (She is familiar to numerous movers and shakers as the amiable daytime hostess at La Griglia.)
The session took place only two days before young Easton participated in the Girls Rock Camp showcase at Fitzgerald's. Mom says Easton wants to be a singer "but drums will be the instrument that she will rock."
Easton is set to enter the fourth grade at Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet.
