Urban Souls Dance Company celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation with guest artists from Hope Stone Dance Company. This project will allow the public to honor this turning point in history through a creative expression of dance, spoken word and music. The public will be invited to create and write self-proclamations of true freedom applicable to today. The Re/Writes will be used in the stage performance.
Special guests include Hope Stone Dance Company, Son Kiss'd, Koumankele African Dance Ensemble, Barbara Johnson Tucker, USDC2, Urban Kids and poet group Jem, Lyro, & Seek.
