Lights in the Heights is in its 24th year as one of the best street festivals in Houston, where locals and visitors from around town line up to view the parade and to admire neighbors' holiday handiwork.
This year's lights display will run down along Bayland and Woodland Streets.
Plenty of music, entertainment and food abounds. Expect some major wattage, along with choirs, handbells, aspiring dancers and impromptu concerts on folks' front porches.
Streets are blocked off, so the event is totally pedestrian-friendly. We recommend bringing a wagon to tote the kids or, if you're like us, a cooler full of holiday cheer.
