Houston's royal wedding: Hilary Duff is pumped up for big Saturday nightnuptials
Hilary Duff will be exchanging this red for white in her wedding tonight.
Because Hilary Duff looked so bad before, she fanatically worked out for the bigday.
The Kennedy Cottage at the San Ysidro Ranch resort where Duff will wed.
OK, it's not Chelsea Clinton and America's version of a royal wedding.
But for Houstonians, it's pretty big. Hometown girl Hilary Duff is marrying her NHL sweetheart Mike Comrie at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch resort just outside of Santa Barbara tonight. Hilary's big sister Haylie Duff will reportedly be the maid of honor for the big event. (Yes, it's a pure Hollywood locale, but did you really expect a celebrity wedding in Houston in August?)
The most interesting detail to come out about the wedding so far is Hilary's maniacal workout regime in preparation for the aisle walk. People magazine reports that Duff was desperate (because it just sounds more compelling if you use desperate) to look her very best.
"The key is to have amazing shoulders, amazing arms, posture is really important,” Duff trainer Harley Pasternak tells People. “But it’s also important to have a really tight midsection, because the way a wedding dress hugs your midsection, you really want it lean and tight."
While Pasternak (who always trains Comrie) says that the 22-year-old Hilary complained about the six-day-a-week workouts all the way (which is kind of refreshing), he couldn't be more pleased with the results.
"She looks toned and tight ...," Pasternak says in People. "I’m really proud of her, she looks fantastic."
But will there be any Houston in the ceremony? How about some Shipley's donuts in the desert line?
