Austin's ocassionally naked celebrity about town, Matthew McConaughey, has taken a model bride. No word from bro-friend Lance Armstrong regarding his broken heart.
The ab-tacular Bernie star, 42, gave his name to the mother of his two children, Camila Alves, 29, at an intimate ceremony with 100 friends and family members on his sprawling property in Austin.
The ceremony involved whispered vows and a number of genuine happy tears, and the reception featured a Brazilian feast and a dance party to reflect Alves' national heritage.
The guest list included Hollywood friends Reese Witherspoon, with husband/Hollywood agent Jim Toth, Woody Harrelson, Meg Ryan and Richard Linklater and of course the couple's children, son Levi and daughter Vida. John Cougar Mellencamp even sang a Bible verse-inspired song for the ceremony.
The ceremony involved whispered vows and a number of genuine happy tears, and the reception featured a Brazilian feast and a dance party to reflect Alves' national heritage. To keep the ordeal low-key, guests were housed in a makeshift luxury campsite on the couple's lawn.
People magazine reports that McConaughey wore a three-piece black Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo (he is a spokesmodel for the Italian fashion house's fragrance), while Alves wore a wedding gown handmade by a favorite Brazilian designer and white Stuart Weitzman heels.
McConaughey and Alves have been dating for six years and engaged since Christmas, but wedding plans were still hush-hush until right before the ceremony.
Alves has told magazines before they already felt married after being together for what is an eternity in Celebrityland, so there was no rush to hurry down the aisle. But, then — whoop! — time to get married with guests sleeping in tents.
Witnesses say the party went all day and night and into the next day, so really, who had time for sleeping in a tent? We all know that the groom is known for his mostly-legal partying tendencies, so you know that reception was likely a doozy.
If you want to see how the groom likes to party sans pants, catch him in his new Burlesque-but-with-naked-dudes movie, Magic Mike, out June 29. And you can see Camila keeping it classy as the host of Bravo TV's Project Runway-but-with-haircuts, Shear Genius, on Wednesday evenings.
