Not what 911 is for
Caught cheating, a Craigslist Casanova comes up with a novel escape: Report theother woman as a burglar
In Craigslist crime news, a Colorado man called the law on his personals ad paramour to avoid looking like a two-timer.
The Colorado Spring Gazette reported that Keith Gaylor, 24, met a woman online and invited her to the house he shared with a live-in girlfriend. But the rendezvous was unfortunately timed: The girlfriend/roommate unexpectedly arrived at home shortly before the other woman knocked on the door, around 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
Instead of a more polite and plausible dismissal — like, "You must have the wrong house" — Gaylor dialed 911 and reported a burglary by a woman with a gun. Five police officers arrived at the scene and detained the (unarmed) other woman before they realized that the story just didn't add up.
Gaylor presumably didn't get that hook-up, but he did receive a summons for false reporting to authorities.
