We're guessing they didn't visit on a 90-degree October day, but the American Planning Association has named Montrose as one of 10 neighborhoods on their 'Great Places in America' list. Cited among it's strengths were a historic heritage (Montrose encompasses five of Houston's 15 historic districts), a variety of architectural styles and housing options, walkability, access to public transportation, a dynamic local spirit and active community, a variety of local restaurants, businesses and cultural destinations, and several annual festivals and events.
