Model Moment
Sports Illustrated swimsuit model lands in Houston — and fans show lots of Instagram love
Chrissy Teigen certainly knows how to cause a scene. Her Houston social media fans went wild with comments after the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model and wife of Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter John Legend announced her Houston arrival Wednesday night in an Instagram post.
Since then, the CultureMap inbox has filled with requests from inquiring minds wanting the scoop on why the supermodel is in Space City, particularly mid-summer when temperatures are breaking 100 degrees regularly.
As it turns out, her visit was mostly work and a little play.
A representative for Teigen told CultureMap, “Chrissy is in town promoting her new nationally syndicated talk show, FABLife, which premieres September 14.”
The show, a Disney/ABC production, will feature a panel of experts who will offer tips and tricks on topics like beauty, business, fashion, home, food and more. TV personality and former model Tyra Banks, also an SI Swimsuit vet, will head up a crew of "lifestylists," including Joe Zee, Lauren Makk, Leah Ashley and Teigen.
Teigen’s quick trip to Houston included a stop at Channel 13 (the Disney owned station is adding the new show to its daytime lineup), where she had lunch with morning anchor Tom Koch, who appeared smitten with the exotic beauty, and faced the Houston weather head-on.
She took a practice turn in front of the green screen giving today's weather forecast. She posted video footage of the experience to her social media accounts with the caption, “Learned another job I can't do #ABC13 #Houston thanks for having me!”
Before heading to the airport, Teigen and her team stopped by Dave and Busters. She posted yet another photo on Instagram, this time scarfing down a hot dog and remarking, "Pit stop of skee-ball and long meat foods before our flight to Dallas."
