Turning a corner? United Airlines enjoys its most on-time month of the year: $100 for everyone!

Superstorm Sandy crashed into the East Coast on Oct. 31, devastating homes and businesses and bringing a brutal Nor'easter in its wake that continued to interrupt travel plans for weeks after.

But these natural disasters could not keep down the overall performance of United Airlines: The carrier announced on Monday that it "delivered its best monthly on-time performance for 2012 in November."

During the month, on average, 85.5 percent of domestic flights arrived within 14 minutes of the scheduled arrival time and 81.2 percent of international flights arrived during that window.

Travelers during the Thanksgiving holidays especially appreciated this punctuality: United's flights arrived on time 88.3 percent of the time during the 10-day peak travel period between Nov. 16 and Nov. 25, and Thanksgiving Day itself had an incredible 95.4 percent on-time arrival rate.

United will reward eligible employees with $100 bonuses.
