The scoop: The rooftop patio of the near northside music hall provided a dramatic backdrop as the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Young Professionals Group celebrate its upcoming gala with an evening of hand-rolled cigars from Embajadores Fine Cigars, hors d’oeurves, and a whiskey tasting by TX Whiskey. Jennifer and Kyle Solak, authors of Goodnight Houston, signed copies of the children's book that takes families on a bedtime tour of the many points of interest that make Houston unique. Houston Texans outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus was announced as the honorary chair of the black-tie gala, which will take place at The Dunlavy on September 22 and is co-chaired by Alexa Bode and Will Finnorn.
