Moms just aren't what they used to be. Consider the line-up of mothers and daughters that strolled the runway at Tootsies for the Recipe for Success "Fashion Gene Awards" benefit. Such was the glamour on both sides of the age spectrum that many of the duos looked more like sisters. You go girls!
The mother/daughter pair of Leisa Holland-Nelson and Laura Max Nelson, a handsome twosome in their own right, chair this season's Dress for Dinner fundraisers that are an integral part of the Recipe for Success fundraising effort.
The glam line-up of "Most Stylish Mothers and Daughters" wearing smashing ensembles from Tootsies included (moms first) Yolanda Adams and Taylor Crawford, Tracy Eklund and Jackie Geaccone, Karen Garcia and Kristin Garcia Blomquist, Kelley and Elise Lubanko, Susan Plank and Kendall Plank, Virginia Steppe and Alissa Maples and Ileana and Mari Trevino. Proud moms strutting their stuff with two daughters in tow were Cheryl Boblitt with her daughters, Kyrstin and Kacie Boblitt, and Susan Krohn with her daughters Kelly and Lori Krohn.
CultureMap editor-in-chief Clifford Pugh introduced the spirited women who received cheers and applause from the crowd of several hundred that packed the party space. Among them was proud Recipe for Success founder Gracie Cavnar, both a mom and grandmother who clearly defies any stereotypical concept of a grandmother.
VIP ticket holders stayed on for dinner prepared by Recipe for Success chef Barbara McKnight, Culinaire catering founder. Among those lining the catwalk for the presentation were Alina Garcia, Vicki Rizzo, Mauri Oliver, Roland Garcia, Ben Harwood Rose, Kim Padgett, Laurette Veres, David Peck, Bruce Padilla, Roz Pactor, Shelby Kibodeaux, Bobbie Nau, Roz Pactor, Bob Hogan and Carrie Colbert, Alex Martinez and David Arpin, and Ariana Smetana.
