It doesn't take a genius to match ice cream consumption with the hottest month of the year.
There are countless ways to celebrate National Ice Cream Month, from an old-fashioned scoop at Hank's to a crazy flavor collision at Amy Ice Cream. (And that's not even including gelato, frozen yogurt, sorbet, etc.)
But there's virtually nothing that says Texas summer like a gallon of Blue Bell. The Brenham creamery has debuted a new flavor to celebrate the occasion — Dessert Trio. Against a backdrop of classic vanilla, they've added chucks of chocolate-chip cookies, pecan brownies and chocolate-covered cake, with some chocolate sauce swirled in for good measure.
The chewy chunks sometimes got mixed together (I'd be hard pressed to distinguish between the brownie and the cake bites) but this is a case of more is more. As in more yummy.
What's your favorite ice cream flavor, and where is your favorite place to eat it in the summer?
