t'afia
|
T'afia is the fresh, airy center of Houston's local food movement. Chef and owner Monica Pope serves coastal Mediterranean-via-California cuisine as well as founding and running the Saturday morning Midtown Farmers' Market, advancing slow-food principles and supporting local organic farmers, cheesemakers, bakers and specialty ranches. The lounge features Andrea Lazar's creative cocktails, including the marjoram 'rita with riazul blanco tequila, marjoram simple syrup, orange juice and a salty-spicy rim and the namesake ratafias, fortified wines with seasonal produce. While the menu rotates, you can’t go wrong with the five-course tasting menu pairing seasonal ingredients (such as jolie vue pork and mushroom bolognese or wild American gulf shrimp with red cabbage, grapefruit salad, peanuts, and nuoc mam) with Texas wines.
On Tuesday through Thursday, Happy Hour runs all night and includes free lounge menu bites with every cocktail.
