1252 Tapas Bar - Uptown Park
You're likely to think you’re in a Barcelona bar at this Uptown Park outpost. The modern art mixes with the rustic building design to create a comfortable atmosphere to linger in over a flight of Spanish wines and plate after plate of tapas. Think hearty lamb meatballs; warm goat cheese with tomato, walnuts, and dried figs or a plate of thin Spanish sausages with melted tetilla cheese. Really hungry? They've got big plates here too. Try the 12-ounce Augustus Ranch New York strip with creamy mashed potatoes and sherry Gorgonzola organic mushrooms, or the melt-in-your-mouth Braised Lamb Shank atop artichoke risotto. And there's more, with two kinds of paella: the Fideua with seafood in an aromatic saffron broth, and the hearty paella Valencia with blood and venison sausages, rabbit and pork belly. Servings are for two or four, but be prepared to wait as real Spanish paella does take time to prepare. Just sit back, relax and sip some of the wonderful Spanish wines or the refreshing white sangria and nibble on house marinated Spanish olives and sourdough bread with goat cheese. Ah, the Spanish life!
