Don't confuse a River Oaks Chamber Orchestra performance with your regular old stuffy — and proper — classical music concert. While keeping the artistic integrity intact and at a high level, these musicales are always engaging and inspiring. At intermission, make sure to take the time to chat with the musicians — they'll mix and mingle with the audience. For those with a tendency to over share, there's always an opportunity to text or tweet questions, reactions and thoughts.
Guest conductor Mei-Ann Chen will lead the ensemble in Martinu’s Toccata, Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Finzi’s Songs performed with baritone soloist, Timothy Jones, whose vocals are as rich as the most indulgent dessert. As always with ROCO, surprise selections will be announced from the stage.
