Emily Sloan, Darke Gallery's artist in residence for 2012, will host open residency days with different themes every Saturday in August. Recreational Aesthetics is a term coined by visionary composer and musician Jane Schmitt referring to a set of artistic practices which take as their theoretical and practical point of departure the whole of human recreation. The goal of recreational aesthetics is to create a situation of "play."
