This series of late-night events, presented once a month from 8 p.m. to midnight, will feature cocktails and dancing amidst a rotation of high-energy live music and DJs.

Designed by IKEA premieres July 27 to the sounds of Soft Metals, a multidisciplinary electronic duo from Portland, Oregon, now based in Los Angeles. Band members Patricia Hall and Ian Hicks bring a diverse sound to the party, somewhere between dance music, austere synth-pop and experimental electronic composition.

Additional music by Mixed Media's resident DJ Ceeplus Bad Knives, Bobby DJ (from //TENSE//) and Dave Wrangler.

The event space will be designed and outfitted by a team from IKEA Houston who is also partnering with local designer Ali Rapp, previously known for her popular line with Anna Sui, to create a limited-edition tote bag using IKEA textiles, exclusive to MFAH. The first 100 guests in the door on July 27 will receive a complimentary tote bag to take home. Additional bags will be available for purchase.
