This grand fête marks the beginning of a weekend filled with stimulating, diverse programming and an international presence, reflecting the unique position the Menil holds within the art world. Inspired by the work of French 20th pioneer Yves Klein (1928-1962), the theme of the event references the artist's innovative exploration of perception, performance, consciousness and transcendence through his monochromatic IKB (International Yves Klein Blue) paintings, sculptures and avant-garde conceptual works.

Klein's ambitious spirit and incomparable creative output had an indelible impact on the trajectory of modern art, and several of his signature works reside in the Menil's permanent collection.
