While the ladies stepped out in frothy spring fashions for The Health Museum's Triple Crown Polo fundraiser at Houston Polo Club, it was the gents, among the crowd of 300, who had the eye of the judges on this Sunday afternoon.
In a twist on fashion focus, the fourth annual polo event featured a "Men of Style" contest sponsored by Q Custom Clothier. Taking top honors were Errol McLaughlin Jr., Dane Hawkins and Darrell Bass.
But, of course, you can't have a polo party without a hat contest for the ladies. That competition was sponsored by Legge, Farrow, Kimmitt, McGrath & Brown LLP. First place went to Dr. Jakeen Williams Johnson, second to Vanssa Wrightsil-Greer and third to Myriam Legge.
And then there was the Prairie Cup polo match, the traditional stomping of the divots and grazing across a buffet spread provided by a variety of Houston eateries. By day's end The Health Museum's Young Professionals group had raised more than $25,000 for educational programming and exhibit development.
