Snooze Comes Early
Wildly popular brunch spot Snooze surprises Galleria area with early opening date
Galleria-area fans of Snooze: An AM Eatery are getting an early Christmas present. The Denver-based restaurant announced its new location in the former Arcodoro space at 5000 Westheimer Rd. will open to the public on Wednesday, December 12.
Originally announced in July, the new Snooze had been scheduled to open in early 2019, but instead it will arrive in time to provide sustenance to Galleria-area shoppers during the holiday season. At 3,700-square-feet inside with an 1,100-square-foot, dog-friendly patio, the new Snooze should offer plenty of seating — which should slightly mitigate the restaurant's typical wait for a table.
The new Snooze will be the sixth in the Houston area, joining outposts in Montrose, Katy, Town & Country, the Heights, and Webster. A seventh location will open next summer in The Woodlands.
Credit for that success belongs to the restaurant's creative interpretations of classic breakfast fare. Snooze also gives diners choices by offering pancake flights (diners choice of up to three different options) and Benedict duos. Dishes get paired with the usual juices or coffee, along with a full menu of creative cocktails. Bright colors and a cheerful staff have also helped it win fans.
Snooze also does its part to be a good neighbor. Each restaurant donates 1 percent of sales to local charities (more than $600,000 in 2017), and it diverts up to 90 percent of its waste by composting and recycling where facilities exist. In the days before the opening, the new restaurant will host three days of invite-only practice services where 100-percent of proceeds will be donated to three local non-profits: Recipe for Success, Sunshine Kids, and Trees for Houston.
