Houston food trucks win big national respect: The best food trucks in America include . . .
The Daily Meal has rounded up the top 101 mobile food units in America that are "worth waiting in line at for a meal worthy of eating standing up," and four trucks from Houston's burgeoning food truck scene made the list.
At No. 91 is Coreanos, which calls itself "Mexican cuisine with Korean in-between" with offerings like Korean barbecue tacos and kimchi French fries.
The Eatsie Boys (now with a brick and mortar "Mmmontrose Cafe") and Oh My Gogi! BBQ (also with Mexican-Korean fusion fare) took Nos. 35 and 36 on the list, respectively. The former has become beloved for its inspired ice cream flavors; the latter seems to have been MIA for a month or so.
Representing H-Town at No. 18 is Bernie's Burger Bus, a three-truck operation that serves up gourmet burgers with homemade condiments and hand-cut fries.
Other Texas food trucks on the top 101 include Dallas-based Easy Slider, ranked No. 79; from Austin, Hey!... You Gonna Eat or What at No. 89, The Peached Tortilla at No. 34 and chef Paul Qui's East Side King at No. 6; San Antonio's Rickshaw Stop at No. 7; and Beyoncé-approved Food Shark out of Marfa at No. 44 (also with a recent brick and mortar location, Future Shark).
