Barbecue Break In
The best barbecue restaurant period: New Houston area spot plans big, shrugs off a brisket thief
Chef Ronnie Killen, of Killen's Steakhouse and now Killen's BBQ fame, was the victim of an unthinkable crime Sunday. Someone ran off with 15 pounds of the chef's legendary brisket (perhaps in belated celebration of National Brisket Day?).
At least Killen has a good sense of humor about it:

Chef Killen may never catch his perpetrator sauce-handed, but that's OK. He has a lot more at steak than a little brisket.
He has finally purchased a brick-and-mortar home for his barbecue restaurant, which, up until now, has been operating as a weekend pop-up in his Pearland steakhouse. Killen's new place also will be in Pearland at 3613 E. Broadway.
He has already proven to local barbecue aficionados he has the chops to grill with the best of 'em, and he aims on transforming the property, a former school cafeteria, into "the best barbeque place period."
Killen hopes to be up and running within the next three months.
