The most unusual cocktails ever? Houston's bar scene is shaken up by Hendrick's
Hendrick's Gin has returned to Houston, bringing its wondrously bizarre world along with it. First stop? Prohibition, a Galleria-area restaurant and speakeasy, where brand ambassador Mark Stoddard hosted "A Delightfully Peculiar Cocktail Academy" on Monday evening.
Back-to-back classes were meant to demystify the art of the cocktail — and with fresh ingredients and bartender tools and perfectly pre-sliced garnishes already laid out in front of each attendee, alongside step-by-step recipes, it was easy to feel a pro.
Students enjoyed the fruits of their labor, refreshing summer tipples like a Cucumber & Blood Orange Cooler, Tenured Punch and Cucumber Lemonade, all made using the signature cucumber- and Bulgarian rose-infused gin from William Grant & Sons.
The second stop on Hendrick's Houston tour is a night of "Voyages Into the Unusual" on Tuesday at Fifty-Two-Twenty-Six . . . and if it's anything like last year's stopover at The Parador, guests should expect to be entertained by live music, enthralled by unusual characters, emboldened by creative cocktails and swept into an altogether different world.
It is, after all, meant to mimic the inside of a bottle of Hendrick's Gin. RSVP now for the "Voyages Into The Unusual" event, which takes place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
