MADE IN THE SHADE
Where are you going to spend this sunny day? Follow our insider ...
With winter weather (finally!) receding, we are more than ready for lunching al fresco. Or just hanging out and wiling away an entire day outdoors - with food and drink to match your suddenly sunny spirit. Don't look now, but it's finally patio season again in Houston.
The temperature's supposed to hit 68 degrees today and 67 tomorrow. Who wants to do anything inside a stuffy room?
Here are six super patios to spend time at on a lovely day.
1. Backstreet Café
Full of Southern gentility, this tree-shaded, New Orleans-style patio makes for a stylish Sunday afternoon—with a bounteous brunch and the tunes of Yvonne Washington to boot.
2. Becks Prime, Memorial Park
It's hard to believe you're eating fast food when relaxing and taking in this golf course view.
3. El Pueblito Place
Who needs a parking lot when you can have a tacky, tricked-out topical oasis serving coastal Tex-Mexican classics?
4. Krafts'men Baking
One of the best brunch and sandwich spots in town spills out onto a picturesque quadrangle with ivied walls, spacious tables and a super-sized chess set.
5. La Griglia
Ever since the fire pit and water feature made their debut last year, the patio here has new life. Another bellini, per favore!
6. Tiny Boxwood’s
Only the scenic gardens inside the Thompson & Hanson nursery could outshine the beautiful people noshing at this French provençal-inspired bistro.
