Really!?
Worse than pink slime? Meet the new fast food Bacon Milkshake with artificialbacon
Just when you think the public has learned a few things from the recent Paula Dean controversy and the arguments to live a healthier lifestyle . . . Jack in the Box decides to create a beverage that has ironically been on everyone's minds: The bacon milkshake!
You have the options to try a 16 oz. or spoil yourself with a 24 oz. Just a heads up though of course, the 16 oz contains 773 calories with 40g of fat, which contains more fat than the fast food place's BLT Cheeseburger and the 24 oz contains 1,081 calories with 54g of fat, which contains more calories than Jack in the Box's Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger.
Apparently Jack in the Box is pushing for an all bacon lovers target audience.
So think before asking for this "secret" menu item. Some might be dissapointed that there actually isn't any real bacon included in the milkshake's recipe, which is substituted with bacon flavored syrup, but there's still plenty of real vanilla ice cream and whipped topping all topped off with a maraschino cherry if you're into strange concoctions.
If you want to get in on the action and help promote this new beverage, you can also check out the newly created 'Marry Bacon' ad campaign. Apparently Jack in the Box is pushing for an all bacon lovers target audience to attract fellow bacon ethusiasts to purchase customized bacon-inspired merch.
You can don a bacon bowtie on a faux tuxedo graphic tee, create your own offspring by uploading personal photos for a bacon baby, and follow and reblog a hysterical 'Marry Bacon'-inspired Tumblr filled with gifs and other bacon-related products that will excite bacon aficionados.
You can be redirected to join a bacon club, learn ways to incorporate bacon into your baking, and even smell like and taste bacon all day long. With the help of Farginnay's Bacon Classic, you'll have the aroma of a "sophisticated spicy maple fragrance with a hint of bacon." And forget Archie McPhee's Bacon Lip Balm.
This phenomenon is not completely new as Denny's created a similiar bacon sundae and coined a bacon celebration called 'Baconalia' not too long ago. But the 'Marry Bacon' campaign now has a massive following and has taken over Jack in the Box's Facebook and Twitter pages.
