Post Malone shocks Houston bartender with 'life-changing' $20,000 tip

Music superstar Post Malone helped one Houston hospitality worker have a very Merry Christmas when he left a $20,000 tip during a visit to The Railyard, a neighborhood bar near River Oaks.

Malone, in town to participate in Beyoncé’s halftime show at the Texans-Ravens game, stopped by the bar with fellow artist Shaboozey. When the bar’s regulars picked up his tab, Malone requested that he be charged a small amount so he could leave a tip for bartender Renee Brown.

Needless to say, the single mother was shocked by what she saw on the receipt.

"I try to go above and beyond to take care of all of our customers, and loved seeing them interact with Post Malone when he visited — he was so genuine and made everyone feel comfortable," Brown said in a statement. "His generosity with this life-changing gift blew me away. This definitely wasn't the Christmas Eve I was expecting, but one I'm forever thankful to have had."

For those unfamiliar, the Railyard is a casual neighborhood bar with a devoted group of regulars who appreciate its low-key atmosphere. It offers happy hour daily from 4-7 pm and all-day on Sunday. With its proximity to posh hotels such as The Post Oak, the Houstonian, and the St. Regis, it has seen its share of celebrities, including David Spade and Keifer Sutherland, according to a release.

“We are so grateful for Post Malone's generosity during his visit," Railyard owner Trey Melcher said. "One of the most amazing things about this bar is that you never know who is going to walk through the door. In the past we've had visits from celebrities, but this unexpected act of kindness made all of our holiday seasons brighter."

Malone came to Houston in October on his F-1 Trillion Tour. Sadly, his BIG ASS Stadium Tour with fellow crooner Jelly Roll is only going to San Antonio and Dallas, but he could be part of the lineup for this year’s Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, which is being announced this Thursday, January 9.

Super Bowl FanFest coming to 30 cities across U.S. including Houston

A Super Bowl-themed festival is coming to 30 cities across the U.S., and that includes Houston: Called Super Bowl FanFest, it'll take place at stadiums and venues across all 30 NFL markets on Super Bowl LIX Sunday February 9, in a nationwide Super Bowl lovefest with food and beverages, meet and greets, local music, and interactive games.

In Houston, it'll take place at the Houston Methodist Training Center, which is part of the NRG Stadium complex at 8799 Kirby Dr. Doors open at 3 pm. Kickoff for the game, which takes place this year in New Orleans, starts at 5:30 pm. The Houston Texans will begin their Super Bowl campaign this Saturday, January 11 at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The FanFest is hosted by Verizon and there is one catch: You need to be a Verizon customer to attend.

Verizon customers who wish to attend can also bring along "a select number of guests." Exactly how many guests, they do not say. They also do not say what the total capacity will be.

In fact, actual details on the event are scant.

The festival will include meet & greets with local legends. The only legend they've locked down for Dallas so far is former Texans wide receiver Cecil Shorts III, but they say more will be coming.

The festival will also include local entertainment including artists and bands. That includes DJ Saynt Chris, Texans mascot Toro, and the team's cheerleaders.

The festival will also include interactive activities that the release says could include "locker room access and photo ops."

The festival will also feature tailgates and food prepared by local chefs, the identity of which they have not revealed yet.

The only thing they are saying is that tickets are now available. Note: Getting tickets requires that you enter your email, and they immediately add you to an email list. Tickets may be free but in the end nothing is free.

Other cities where it's taking place include all your major NFL cities — Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. The only other city in Texas where it's taking place is Dallas, where it will be at Cosm, an immersive entertainment venue in The Colony. Cowboys fan favorite Jason Witten will attend the Dallas event.

“Super Bowl LIX is the most anticipated sporting event of the year but few get to experience it in person; we wanted to bring that collective excitement and energy to fans across the country with once-in-a-lifetime access they’ll never forget," says Verizon executive VP Leslie Berland in a statement.
