When Wendy Williams and her hot pink tour bus entourage descended on The Breakfast Klub Wednesday morning, a media pass might've gotten you to the front, but it didn't get you much else.
And anyway, in line was the place to be.
Although Williams was nearly a half hour late and bypassed the long line of fans to offer a quick wave and a "hello" (no, not even a "how you doin") before ducking inside, she at least kept those waiting on their toes with a pair of identical black Navigators circling the block before her enormous pink tour bus finally rolled up.
When she finally emerged, fans and other media (you were no one Wednesday morning if you weren't with Fox 26, just ask Houston Style) were let into Breakfast Klub in blocks. Inside, there was no line to great the queen of daytime TV.
The "appearance" was just that. Williams dined with the Fox 26 crew, and everyone else got to watch her eat and snap as many pics as they wanted. The slammed BK staff were, to be kind, less than impressed with Miz Wendy.
Here are our top five things we overheard at Wendy Williams' breakfast brouhaha:
1). From a Breakfast Klub staffer, when Williams was still MIA at 10:22 — "Y'all know she's not here. If she doesn't get here, I'm fixin' to go get her myself, though."
2). On what was keeping Williams inside her now-parked tour bus — "She's probably like, 'It's too hot here, I gotta paint my face back on.' "
3). When Williams emerged, among cheers — "Are those breasts real?"
4). In general — "What are these cameras about? I just want my chicken and waffles."
5). And finally, from a Breakfast Klub staffer as she wrapped up my fish 'n' grits to go, "I didn't know anybody could act that way, but I guess they can. Shame, shame."
Those of you headed to Memorial City Mall for Williams' 2:30 p.m. "appearance," let us know how it goes.
