Drake's Houston night
Drake tears it up at a Houston club, ignites a frenzy about an upcoming secret concert
Hip-hop superstar Drake dropped into Midtown night club Fifth Amendment on Thursday night, sending his fans into a frenzy. Drake made the unannounced appearance to promote his mysterious Houston Appreciation Weekend.
Drake's record label, October's Very Own, is set to host the weekend-long event somewhere in Houston from June 13 to 15, although few details have been released. Yes, Drake loves himself some mystery.
The rapper is known for loving the Bayou City. He even sports a Houston Astros tattoo. Drake performed a DJ set at Fifth Amendment and talked to the crowd about Houston Appreciation Weekend, the city and local legend Bun B.
Drake posted a photo showing himself with Bun B and J Prince, the CEO of Houston-based Rap-A-Lot Records, on Instagram.
This all set up a flurry of Twitter rumors about a secret Drake concert at Warehouse Live on Friday night. The venue's squashed that speculation by sending out a statement:
"Warehouse Live cannot confirm or deny whether Drake will be playing there soon, but Drake will not be performing there tonight."
So Drake won't be at Warehouse Live tonight. But it sure looks like we now know at least one of spots he'll be at during his Houston Appreciation Week.
