One of America’s most beloved singer-songwriters is coming to Houston. John Mellencamp will bring his Dancing Words Tour — The Greatest Hits to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on August 6.

The 19-city tour will begin in Grand Rapids, MI on July 10 and end in Mountain View, CA on August 12. Houston is the only Texas stop on the tour.

As the name implies, Mellencamp will be playing all of his most famous songs at the performance. They include “Pink Houses,” “Jack and Diane,” and “Small Town,” as well as tracks he hasn’t performed in more than 10 years, such as “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.” and “I Need a Lover.”

Mellencamp is among the most successful performers in the history of rock ‘n roll. He’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 1985, he teamed up with Willie Nelson and Neil Young to establish Farm Aid, a benefit concert to aid American family farmers.
