Oprah Disses H-Town
Oprah Winfrey disses Houston, deems Dallas a much better host city
Oprah Winfrey's spent a fair amount of time in Texas over the last year and the queen of daytime TV has formed some definite opinions.
And they're not very flattering to Houston.
When asked by the Dallas Morning News which city is the best host — Houston or Dallas — Winfrey hardly played diplomat. Instead, Oprah jumped right into Big D's lap.
"Dallas won!" Oprah said. "If you have a rivalry, Dallas won!"
"Dallas won!" she said. "If you have a rivalry, Dallas won!"
What? Since when does Oprah blatantly pick sides? It's not like Houston is Sweden.
Oprah was in Dallas to film two of her Lifeclasses with Bishop T.D. Jakes at American Airlines Center (yes, the mammoth place where the Dallas Mavericks usually play that seats 18,500). She's a big fan of Jakes and his cooking (he made her banana pudding — no joke, he cooked for her). Surely, she was in a good mood.
But still . . . why diss Houston?
After all, she filmed a LifeClass in Houston last fall with Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen. Apparently, Osteen has some explaining to do.
