Updated: With a strong band of showers rolling through Houston Saturday night, a flash flood emergency was issued for the entire area as many roadways were flooded. The big message from The City of Houston Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is for residents and visitors to stay off the roadways over the next few days during Hurricane Harvey.

With the amount of rain the Houston-area is receiving, the chances of high water and flooding are increased. The Department of Public Works and Engineering and OEM put together a list of roadways and underpasses that are prone to flooding. Access an updated list of high water areas from our partners at ABC13. If you absolutely have to leave your home, please avoid these areas.
