Extreme Makeover starts its Houston show at First Baptist Church tonight
Corpse flower madness is still consuming the city — but don't let that overshadow Extreme Makeover'sfirst visit to Houston.
I keep running across people who don't know about the project. Maybe because we're distracted with corpse flower craze or the recent Kemah build depleted the novelty of the event, whatever the reason, help is still needed.
The volunteer pep rally kicks off the build 7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church on Katy Freeway at the intersection with I-610 West. There will be live music, giveaways, appearances by Houston's four major sports mascots (Clutch from the Rockets, Junction Jack from the Astros, Toro from the Texans and Diesel from the Dynamo) and talks on volunteering from the ABC show producers. Visit HHN Homes website for a complete list of volunteer and supply needs.
The family and location haven't been disclosed yet. Ty Pennington and the team will notify the family for the ABC cameras in a July 25 "Door Knock."
