Let's Hear it for the Curls
Beyoncé brings Houston to White House state dinner, but is Michelle Obama evenmore glam?
The White House's state dinner Wednesday night honoring Mexican President Felipe Calderón and his wife had more than a few celebrity faces, but it was Houston's own Beyoncé who performed for the President and star-studded crowd after dinner.
She (with husband Jay-Z also along) staged a concert on the South Lawn after being introduced by President Obama as, "somebody some of you may have heard of."
Other familiar faces in the crowd were Eva Longoria Parker, George Lopez and Whoopi Goldberg. There were no crashers this time around, though those crazy Salahis did a near drive-by in a limo that was ticketed for running a red light (no joke).
But perhaps stealing the show even from frequent Obama double-daters Beyoncé and Jay-Z? Michelle. The First Lady wore a Peter Soronen-designed sparkling blue one-shouldered gown (her fifth selection from the designer), accented with a gleaming silver statement belt and a coiffure of curls last seen on Molly Ringwald. (Do not misread me — I'm into it.)
