Suspect or Shadow?
The real truth of the mystery man on roof: Viral Boston Marathon bombing photo only fuels questions
A shadowy figure spotted in a Twitpic from Monday's horrific Boston Marathon bombings has the Internet aflutter with conspiracy theories.
Suffolk University student Dan Lampariello tells ABC News he captured the image as the second of two explosions rocked the ground near the marathon finish line. In the photo, a man appears to casually walk along the rooftop of an adjacent brick building as runners and spectators scramble from a massive fireball bursting from a sidewalk trash can.

Monday afternoon, the operator of a fake Frank Ocean Twitter account posted the picture posing the question "Who's that guy on the roof??" After the image was reposted more the 2,000 times, a social media storm ensued, spurned on by the United Kingdom's Daily Mail with the publication writing Monday night that the picture raises the "possibility that one of the perpetrators watched as the carnage was unleashed."
Boston authorities are currently investigating the image of the man, who, more than likely, was simply a spectator taking advantage of a clear view of the finish line. Boston police did take an active stance against rooftop parties at this year's event, according to Yahoo News.
The likelihood of identifying the man in the picture anytime soon remains low, as the poor image quality makes the figure look as much like a 1960s Bigfoot sighting as it does a potential suspect.
