The University of St. Thomas has evacuated its Montrose campus after receiving a pair of bomb threats Thursday morning.
At 8 a.m., the university received an email warning of a bomb in the Doherty Library. The building was evacuated for a thorough search and students were warned via the school website a half hour later that all classes in the library would be relocated.
But by 10 a.m., officials decided to evacuate the entire campus after a second bomb threat was called into the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
A university spokesperson tells CultureMap that the campus is being searched with the help of bomb sniffing dogs from the Houston Police Department. School administrators are awaiting a final police report, but hope to be able reopen the school later Thursday afternoon.
