Hot rods take over 19th Street in the Heights, creating a rocking block party of tricked-out cars
Rockabillies and hot rod aficionados flocked on Saturday to the Houston Heights, where Red Rocket Speed Shop — purveyor of vintage clothing and rockabilly gear — had set up a "V-Day Massacre" outside of its 19th Street shop.
Mid-Century motors courtesy of Korsair's Car Club, a lowbrow art show at Boomtown Coffee and Heights Cigar Lounge, a food truck feast and a DJ by the name of Johnny Blue Dot made for a rocking block party that lasted well into the night.
Bob Derr, editor of Firing Order Magazine, snapped this shot of the publication's tricked-out pickup parked outside of Red Rocket — a perfect pick for our Pix of the Day.
