    Happy Hour Deals

Houston's hottest new happy hours for cheap drinks and delectable eats

Some of Houston's finest restaurants serve up a mighty fine deal during happy hour, including the five new spots below. Spend the day working away, and then enjoy discounted fare and a price break on drinks, and be home by 7 pm.

    Helen Greek Food and Wine

The beverage menu at Helen Greek Food and Wine is something to brag about. The quaint Rice Village eatery, with classic and modern Greek fare, boasts the city's first-ever all-Hellenic wine list.

Sample the goods for a bargain during happy hour (Tuesday-Sunday; 3-6 pm), which features seven rotating wines by the glass ($6 each). Moreover, the discount also applies to a roster of bites (priced at $7) including Greek poutine (fries topped with gyro meat and feta) and lamb cigars (lamb rolled with oregano, potato, olives and tomato).

    Lawless Spirits and Kitchen

Drink prices drop during happy hour (weekdays; 4-7 pm) at the swank downtown bar with dark wood, leather chairs and a spacious balcony with a view of the city. Enjoy offers $2 off bottled beer and $3 off draft beers, wines by the glass and cocktails like a classic Moscow mule or Mexican Standoff (made with tequila, guanabana tropical fruit nectar, agave and fresh lime).

    Fielding's Local Kitchen + Bar

Sit at the bar at the Woodlands-area restaurant, which serves up European fare with Mediterranean accents, and enjoy top-quality offerings for a steal during happy hour (weekdays from 4-7 pm; Monday-Thursday from 9-10 pm; Friday from 10-11 pm). Imbibe $3 beers, $4 wines by the glass and half-off cocktails like the must-try Dragon’s Breath (a mix of bourbon, elderflower liqueur, orange-flavored liqueur and cane syrup with cherry wood smoked ice). Soak it all up with specially priced eats from a salami board ($17) to pizza ($6-$10), thin-crust and cooked to a crisp in a wood-fired oven.

The Moonshiners Southern Tables + Bar

Feel right at home at this charming downtown bar and restaurant. During happy hour, enjoy a price break on Southern comfort fare (think: deviled eggs ($3.50 each), fried green tomatoes ($3.50) and brisket sliders ($6)), plus wines by the glass (half-price), southern draft beers ($2 off) and two signature moonshines: Peachy Keen (peach corn whiskey, vermouth and fresh grapefruit juice) and Strawberry Moon (strawberry infused moonshine mixed with lemonade, fresh cream of coconut, mint leaves, turbinado syrup and fresh lime juice) priced at $5 each.

    Bramble

Offerings on the bar menu at Bramble (Monday-Saturday; drink at 4 pm and foods at 5 pm) ensure you won't go hungry — thanks to the rotating selection of eats such as an 8-ounce house burger ($12), an all-beef hot dog (with spicy tomato and okra relish; $8) and pork ribs (glazed in caramel of whey and plums; $13) and a jar of housemade pickles ($3) — or thirsty with $2 off beers, cocktails and small-production wines by the glass.

Helen Greek Food and Wine features seven rotating Greek wines by the glass ($6 each) during happy hour.

Award-winning ramen shop sets opening date for new Memorial location

Ramen Tatsu-ya opens in Town & Country Village on Tuesday, December 9.

Memorial-area diners will soon be slurping noodles and chowing down on Sweet & Sour Yodas. Ramen Tatsu-ya is opening its second Houston-area location this Tuesday, December 9.

Located in Town & Country Village (600 West Sam Houston Pkwy North, #605), the new Ramen Tatsu-ya builds on the success of the restaurant’s first Houston location that opened in 2017. It has earned a following for its signature tonkotsu broth, which takes up to three days to prepare.

The menu also includes small plates such as sweet and spicy Brussels sprouts (aka, Yodas), karaage, and gyoza. They can be paired with a full range of drinks, including beer, sake, frozens, and non-alcoholic sips such as lemongrass-cucumber limeade and strawberry-yuzu lemonade.

“Houston has been so good to us since opening our first ramen shop in Montrose in 2017,” Tatsu-ya CEO Todd Coerver said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring our authentic, Japanese-style ramen to Memorial City, and we aren’t stopping there. A third opening in Houston is planned for summer 2026.”

The restaurant will open at 2 pm. The first 50 people to dine in will receive a t-shirt that features an image of the location’s mural, which was created by Houston artist Briks.

Founded in 2012 by chefs Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya Matsumoto, Ramen Tatsu-ya took Austin by storm. Fans lined up an hour or more to get a bowl of soup, and the restaurant earned a spot on Bon Appetit’s 2013 list of the country’s best new restaurants. Memorial/Town & Country will be the restaurant’s ninth location, following a to-go window that opened on the Drag near the University of Texas earlier this year. More are coming, as Coerver’s statement makes clear.

Ramen Tatsu-ya joins a dynamic mix of new and new-ish restaurants in Memorial and Town & Country Village, including neighborhood restaurant The Henry, classic American restaurant Relish Restaurant & Bar, Murray’s Pizza & Wine, and Michelin-recognized live-fire concept Credence.
