A foodie film festival: The meals may be even more exciting than the movies at this unique event
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents its inaugural Turkish Film Festival next weekend, showcasing contemporary cinema from April 5 through 7.
Titles range from Polluting Paradise, a documentary about the environmental degradation of a seaside town, to Love Likes Coincidences, the romantic tale of star-crossed lovers, to Shattered Soul, a psychological thriller and murder mystery — but almost equally as exciting is the food component.
To celebrate the occasion, area Turkish restaurants will be offering dining discounts to discerning film buffs. Present your MFAH ticket stub to receive 15 percent off of your meal from April 1 through 15 at Nazif's Turkish Grill & Deli, Istanbul Grill & Deli, Pasha Restaurant or Turquoise Grill and Bar (on Kirby). Empire Turkish Grill on Memorial Drive will offer the 15 percent discount from April 5 through 7.
Admission to each MFAH preview costs just $10 for non-members (or $8 for members, students and seniors), making it easy to feed your intellect and your appetite.
