When The Daily Beast unveiled its "Amazing but Overlooked: 25 Colleges You Haven't Considered but Should" list earlier this week, the publication knew it was sure to incite a response.
And incite it did: In just two days, the site received more than 650 submissions for overlooked colleges — among the best selected from those submissions were two more Texas schools (in addition to Rice University and Texas A&M University, both on the initial list), which made a new curated reader-recommended roundup of "More Overlooked Colleges & Programs."

Advocate Zita Arocha describes it as a "cutting edge multimedia journalism program where students write and produce multimedia for a bilingual web news magazine called borderzine.com."
Austin College in the North Texas town of Sherman — not to be confused with Austin Community College in our state's capital — was also nominated by a reader for its leadership development.
"Whether it is the Posey Leadership Institute, the award-winning Model U.N. team, the Student Assembly, or any of the other student-led organizations on campus, leadership is at the heart of campus . . . [Individuals] are given the opportunity to shine by having their research published, their innovations funded by a Student Sustainability Fund, and their skills sharpened by regular educational lectures, trainings, and programs," writes Alexander Clark.
