Construction has begun on yet another "pearl" in Houston. The latest luxury midrise apartments called Pearl Washington will be located on 3.12 acres along the Washington Corridor.

Scheduled to open in spring 2016, the Pearl Washington site sits at the corner of Washington Avenue and T.C. Jester Boulevard.

The newest Pearl will have five stories with 322 one-, two- and three-bedroom units over two podium levels of garage parking with eVgo car charging stations. Units range from 652 square feet to 1,443 square feet. All apartments come with balconies.

"Downtown Houston is only three miles away, and Memorial Park is within walking or biking distance."

Other amenities include a business cafe, state-of-the-art fitness studio, resort-style swimming pool with private cabanas and sun decks, two courtyards, a dog park and a bocce court.

The Morgan Group is the developer, with Studio Dwell serving as the architect.

"Pearl Washington is an exceptional location with with proximity to a variety of restaurants, nightlife and office buildings," Alan Patton, president of Morgan, said in a statement. "Downtown Houston is only three miles away, and Memorial Park is within walking or biking distance."

Pearl Washington is one of Morgan's more than eight Pearl projects in various development stages since the company launched the luxury brand last summer. In Houston, Pearl Midtown is located at 3101 Smith St., while Pearl Greenway is located at 3788 Richmond Ave. A Pearl Woodlake is coming to the Westchase District and is scheduled to open in 2015.
