Athletes perform a dance on stage to warm up the crowd beforehand. At the conclusion of the cermony, Phil Godfrey, president and CEO of the National Senior Games Association, thanked Houston for hosting the Games. “Houston has raised the bar for this event just as each of the host cities has done in the past,” he said. “We look forward to great Games in Cleveland.” The 2013 Summer National Senior Games will be held in the Ohio city. In the final ceremonial act, Texas athletes Graham Johnston, Lindsey Lloyd, Dinah Anderson and DeEtte Sauer passed the National Senior Games flag to Ohio athletes Gary Vaught, Jon Van Zile, Mary Hartzler and Mary Robinson signifying the continuity of the National Senior Games.
